Il Martin Pescatore sull’altra sponda in caccia.
IT. Ero lì tranquillo, sono uscito solo per girare un video sulla mia attrezzatura, mica per stare fuori a lungo a fotografare uccelli. Questo è quello che mi ripetevo continuamente nella mia testa, ma intanto, con la coda dell’occhio, continuavo a scrutare i canneti della sponda opposta alla mia, più precisamente sul fiume Adda.
Dovete sapere che in quel punto c’è una coppia di martin pescatori, maschio e femmina. Loro volano tra canneti e rovi in cerca di pesce. Lo so perché è qualche mese che li osservo e, tra l’altro, non sono mai riuscito a fotografarli da vicino. Nemmeno ora, a dirla tutta, ma almeno ho trovato il punto in cui distano meno rispetto alla solita condizione in cui li fotografo.

EN.I was there, calm and relaxed. I had only gone out to shoot a video about my gear, not to spend hours photographing birds. That’s what I kept telling myself, but at the same time, out of the corner of my eye, I kept scanning the reeds on the opposite bank—along the Adda River.
You should know that in that spot there’s a pair of kingfishers, male and female. They fly between reeds and brambles in search of fish. I know this because I’ve been observing them for a few months now, and I’ve never managed to photograph them up close. Not even this time, to be honest—but at least I found a position where they’re closer than usual compared to how I normally photograph them.
