Incontro inaspettato con la mia amica più sfuggente: La Poiana
IT. Non avevo grandi aspettative per questo caldo giorno di fine inverno. Dopo aver superato brillantemente un esame di lavoro, mi sono concesso un giro lungo le rive dell’Adda, con la speranza di fare nuovi incontri.
Questa volta ho scelto un punto di osservazione diverso dal solito, nella speranza che qualche specie, magari anche migratoria, potesse regalarmi un momento epico.
E invece, inizialmente, nulla di tutto questo.
A parte due Morette, che non avevo ancora osservato nella zona che frequento di solito, nessun incontro diverso da quelli che si possono fare anche più a valle.
Poi l’ho sentita.
Il suo inconfondibile “pììì-uu”.
La mia amica era lì, impegnata nella ricerca del suo pasto.
La cosa più incredibile è che non si è accorta della mia presenza e si è lasciata fotografare.
Uno scatto difficilissimo, viste le condizioni di luce davvero proibitive: a 25600 ISO è uscito ciò che potete vedere. E secondo me, è una meraviglia.
La Nikon Z9 mi ha regalato un’immagine che difficilmente avrei potuto ottenere con le altre macchine del mio corredo. Portare a casa una qualità simile in condizioni così estreme è stato un dono inatteso.
E naturalmente, il grazie più grande va alla mia amica Poiana, per essersi mostrata in tutto il suo splendore, proprio lì, su quel posatoio dove non avrei mai immaginato di poterla osservare.

EN.I didn’t have high expectations for this warm late-winter day. After successfully passing a work exam, I treated myself to a walk along the banks of the Adda River, hoping for new encounters.
This time, I chose a different observation spot than usual, hoping that some species—perhaps even a migratory one—might gift me an epic moment.
And yet, at first, nothing like that happened.
Aside from two Tufted Ducks, which I had never seen in this particular area before, there was nothing I couldn’t normally find further downstream.
Then I heard it.
That unmistakable “pììì-uu.”
My old friend was there, searching for her next meal.
The most incredible part is that she didn’t notice my presence and allowed herself to be photographed.
A very difficult shot, given the extremely poor lighting conditions: at 25,600 ISO, this is what came out—and in my opinion, it’s a marvel.
The Nikon Z9 delivered an image that I could hardly have captured with the other cameras in my kit. Achieving this level of quality in such challenging conditions was an unexpected gift.
And of course, my greatest thanks go to my friend, the Common Buzzard, for revealing herself in all her beauty, right there on a perch where I would have never expected to find her.
