Pian di Spagna, 10 Gennaio 2026,
IT.In una gelida mattina di gennaio ho deciso di intraprendere il mio giro settimanale verso la Riserva Naturale del Pian di Spagna, situata all’estremità settentrionale del Lago di Lecco, più precisamente sulle sponde del Lago di Mezzola.
Per mia disinformazione non avevo mai sentito parlare di questo luogo straordinario. Proprio per questo ho deciso di visitarlo, con l’obiettivo di realizzare una buona sessione fotografica e girare un video per il mio canale YouTube.
Inutile dire quanto questo posto sia magnifico: a soli 300 metri dall’ingresso sono stato accolto da un meraviglioso branco di cervi. Erano molto distanti, è vero, ma rappresentano la prima e splendida forma di vita che ho incontrato e documentato durante questa uscita.
Nei miei video, per scelta, non utilizzo riprese aeree. Quando si entra in luoghi in cui l’uomo ha deciso di tutelare e favorire la proliferazione dell’avifauna e di altre specie animali, l’uso dei droni non è solo vietato, ma — a mio avviso — anche contrario al buon senso. Ritengo sia giusto sacrificare lo spettacolo in favore del rispetto per questi ambienti e per chi li abita.
Dopo l’incontro con i cervi, è intervenuto un referente della riserva impegnato nel censimento degli uccelli acquatici. Per questo motivo mi è stato chiesto di non oltrepassare il sentiero e di non abbandonarlo in alcun modo. Una limitazione che ha ridotto notevolmente le possibilità di filmare e fotografare la fauna con la libertà che normalmente mi consente di lavorare nel massimo rispetto degli animali.
Per questo mi sono promesso di tornare in un periodo di fine inverno o inizio primavera, concordando preventivamente l’uscita con la riserva, così da poter svolgere la mia attività nel pieno rispetto delle regole e dell’ambiente che mi ospita.
EN. On a freezing January morning, I decided to take my weekly walk towards the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve, located at the northern end of Lake Como, more precisely along the shores of Lake Mezzola.
Due to my own lack of knowledge, I had never heard of this extraordinary place before. That curiosity led me to visit it, with the intention of enjoying a solid photography session and creating a video for my YouTube channel.
Needless to say, this place is truly remarkable. Just 300 meters from the entrance, I was welcomed by a beautiful herd of deer. They were far away, that’s true, but they were the first wonderful form of life I encountered and documented during this outing.
In my videos, I choose not to use aerial footage. When entering areas where humans have decided to protect and encourage the proliferation of birdlife and other wildlife, the use of drones is not only prohibited, but — in my view — also goes against common sense. I believe it is right to sacrifice spectacle in favor of respect for these places and the animals that inhabit them.
After the encounter with the deer, a representative of the reserve arrived to conduct a census of aquatic birds. For this reason, I was asked not to go beyond the designated path and to remain on the trail at all times. This significantly limited my ability to film and photograph wildlife with the freedom that usually allows me to work while fully respecting the animals.
For this reason, I have promised myself that I will return in late winter or early spring, coordinating in advance with the reserve, so that I can carry out my work in full respect of the rules and of the environment that hosts me.
